The Juneau Pioneer Home Foundation was established shortly after the Juneau Pioneer Home opened its doors in 1988. The Foundation was established when family and community members realized the needs of the residents could not always be met by the State, the residents, or their families. Since that time the Foundation has raised and provided several hundred thousand dollars of support for residents and staff. In order to continue to provide support and advocacy for residents of the JPH, the Foundation recently voted to become a member of the Juneau Community Foundation. We believe this move will allow us to continue our support and advocacy of residents as well as supporting our broader Juneau community.
With this new beginning we have changed our name to the Friends of the Juneau Pioneer Home.
What has not changed is the feeling you get when walking into the Juneau Pioneer Home. You immediately feel welcomed by the soothing colors, comfortable furnishings, and personal touches that mark this space as a true home. Meals are varied and interesting. The grounds and views are beautiful. A wide variety of activities and the ability to socialize with others is ever present. The large extended family atmosphere including residents and their families and the staff of the JPH is welcoming, supportive and understanding. Love lives here.
