When our community faces challenges, many reach out to the Juneau Community Foundation for help. We actively partner with Juneau’s nonprofits to understand needs and maintain a healthy community by working with nonprofits and donors to keep Juneau connected and thriving.
For over five years, we have provided funding for the Universal Elementary School Breakfast Program and the Weekend Student Food Bags. Last year, we became the funder of the Student Vacation Food Boxes. Both the weekend and vacation programs have seen an increase in need to 700 students this year. Recent conversations with our partners have made it clear that their funding and services are stretched to the breaking point. We find that we all need to do more.
