Book Hook Fund is a donor-advised fund, founded by an investor in Alaskan Brewing Co, who spent much of his younger years in libraries. He created this Fund with a focus on grants for libraries in small rural communities (5,000 or less people) throughout Alaska. Grants can be used to purchase reading materials for the public- books and periodicals, or software. In its first year, The Book Hook Fund awarded several $1000 grants, including one to Tri Valley Library in Healy, Alaska where they were able to purchase 153 books for their Children’s and Junior Fiction collections. Grants are offered on a rolling basis.
