Book Hook Fund is a donor-advised fund founded by an investor in Alaskan Brewing Co. who spent much of his younger years in libraries. He created this Fund in 2020 with a focus on grants for libraries in small rural Alaska communities (5,000 or less people). From Southeast Alaska to Nome, the Book Hook Fund has provided $36,400 in funds to over thirty rural Alaskan libraries. Grants range from $500-$1,000 and can be used to purchase reading materials for the public- books and periodicals, or software. The application period typically opens October 1 and is due by Halloween.
