End-of-year giving deadlines are critical to ensure that your gifts are processed in time to receive tax benefits in the current year. We are here to assist you with your charitable gifts. To receive the best possible service and meet year-end tax deadlines for 2024, please plan ahead and keep this information in mind:
- Gifts of mutual funds or special securities should be initiated by Friday, November 22, 2024.
- Gifts of appreciated stock should be initiated by Friday, December 13, 2024.
- Wire transfers of cash should be initiated no later than Monday, December 23, 2024.
- Checks sent via private carriers such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL must be physically received at the Foundation on or before Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
- Checks sent via the US Postal Service to the Foundation must be postmarked on or before December 31, 2024. Any checks postmarked after December 31, 2024, will be recorded as a gift made in 2025.
- Credit card gifts via the Foundation online giving page may be made through 11:59 pm Alaska Time, December 31, 2024.
- Gifts of complex assets such as real estate, closely-held business interests or stock, and planned giving vehicles will require input from the Foundation’s Board and should be discussed with Amy as soon as possible for potential closure by the end of the calendar year.
