Investment Policy The Juneau Community Foundation has created two investment funds for managing its pooled contributions from donors and organizations. The Bedrock Short Term Fund is managed to protect principal, and while some market volatility may occur, it is intended as a low risk fund from which disbursements are anticipated in the next few years. The Evergreen Long Term Fund is invested for a longer time horizon of five years or more. Short term market volatility is expected in this fund, with an expectation of higher returns over time. Investments are well diversified with an emphasis on investments in stock markets both domestically and internationally. Oversight for both funds rests with the Finance Committee of the Juneau Community Foundation. Current volunteer board members serving on this committee are Bob Storer (chair), Bill Corbus, Clark Gruening, and George Elgee. Board member Peter Jurasz, with Merrill Lynch in Juneau, provides pro bono investment services to the Finance Committee. In addition to these two investment funds, several Juneau organizations and donors have funds placed with the investment pool of the Alaska Community Foundation, in partnership with the Juneau Community Foundation. The Investment Policy statements for all three investment funds are available for viewing in pdf format in the following links.
